About Dr. Julio
Chiropractor. Community Advocate. Traveler. Diver. And a firm believer that healthcare should feel personal.
Hi, I'm Dr. Julio, chiropractor and founder of Meraki Chiropractic. I created Meraki because I wanted to build something that felt different, a place where patients feel heard, where care isn't rushed or cookie-cutter, and where the goal isn't to sell you a lifetime of treatment.
The word Meraki means to do something with love, passion, creativity, and soul. That's exactly what I wanted this practice to represent. As a Puerto Rican and bilingual chiropractor, I'm especially proud to provide care in both English and Español and help make chiropractic care more accessible to Indianapolis' Spanish-speaking community.
Today, Dr. Julio is:
Licensed chiropractor with 10+ years of experience
2024 Best Chiropractor Award (Indianapolis Community Choice Awards)
2026 Salud Award Winner (Prospanica Indianapolis) recognized as one of the only bilingual Latino chiropractors on Indy's west side
Serving 100+ patients in the community he's built
Dedicated to bilingual, patient-centered care that actually works
MY APPROACH TO CARE
-
Your pain is real. Your experience matters. I take time to understand what you're going through, not just the physical pain, but your life, your work, your goals.
-
You should never feel confused or rushed. I explain what's happening, why it's happening, and how we'll fix it, in English or Spanish.
-
I'm not here to keep you coming forever. I'm here to get you feeling better, teach you how to maintain your health, and set you free.
-
You work hard for your money. Your time is valuable, I make efficient appointments that respect both.
-
This isn't a corporate chain… This is our neighborhood, I know the people, I understand the culture. I'm invested in our community's health.
Beyond the Clinic
When I'm not helping patients, you'll find me in the kitchen, cooking and baking is my second passion. There's something peaceful about it, like meditation with food. My partner and I often spend evenings hosting dinner with friends, playing board games, and enjoying good conversation. We share our home with Luna, our cat, who keeps us company and reminds us to slow down.
I'm also a certified scuba diver (as of July 2022). It's a passion I never expected to have, but now I can't wait to get back in the water exploring. Well, until I see a shark…then I'm done!
Beyond personal hobbies, I'm deeply committed to giving back to the community that's given me so much. I've had the privilege of working with veterans at the Roudebush VA Medical Center, helping the men and women who served this country heal and recover. That experience shaped who I am as a chiropractor.
I believe in practicing what I preach: movement, wellness, and living with purpose. I'm passionate about serving the Latino and bilingual community in Indianapolis, making sure healthcare is accessible, affordable, and provided in the language people speak at home. It's personal for me because I've seen firsthand what happens when people don't have access to culturally competent care.
